Tom Sandoval Ditches Lawyer and Will Represent Himself in Lawsuit Filed by Ex Rachel Leviss!
Tom Sandoval has informed a Los Angeles judge that he will represent himself in the ongoing revenge porn lawsuit filed by his ex, Rachel “Raquel” Leviss. The lawsuit accuses Tom and his former girlfriend, Ariana Madix, of invasion of privacy and eavesdropping, following the alleged sharing of a private video of Rachel recorded during their affair.
Court documents obtained by In Touch Weekly on December 11 show that Tom had been working with Gourjian and his partner, Tara Karamians, after originally hiring Matt Geragos. Now, he’s going solo and will represent himself as the case moves forward.
Along with the substitution notice, Tom informed the legal teams representing both Rachel and Ariana that he would be proceeding without legal representation. Tom Sandoval had addressed suing Ariana in july, clarifying on Instagram that his lawyer, Matt Geragos, had advised him to agree to a cross-complaint, which was just a standard precaution.
Tom emphasized, “In no way am I suing Ariana,” and confirmed he had dropped the case and parted ways with Matt. Both Tom and Ariana previously attempted to dismiss Rachel’s lawsuit, but their motions were denied. Ariana, 39, currently has a pending appeal concerning a court ruling that did not grant her request to dismiss the case.
Ariana has denied sharing the videos with anyone, stating, “I did not send the videos to anyone else. Nor did I share, display, or show the videos to anyone else.” She clarified that she only saw the video of Rachel in private, secluded settings.
Rachel, 30, has claimed that Tom recorded her without consent in a compromising position and that Ariana obtained the videos, sending them to herself and others.
In her court documents, Rachel stated, “It is not just that [Ariana] had discovered the recordings and confronted me about their contents. If that were all that happened, [Ariana] would not have been named in this lawsuit. But that is not all that happened.”
Rachel had opened up about the emotional impact, mentioning how it caused her a lot of distress and anxiety. “I was in a state of extreme distress as a result of the events described in the lawsuit,” Rachel explained, detailing her emotional and physical struggles, including “loss of self-esteem, disgrace, humiliation, powerless, sleeplessness, nightmares, and loss of enjoyment of life.”
