Christina Haack Recalls Painful Memories From Her Third Marriage

The reality star shared her vulnerability about how she truly feels about her split from her third husband with the very unusual confidant in the upcoming series premiere of her new show, The Flip Off.

Christina Haack and Josh Hall began their divorce process in July 2024 after about three years of marriage, and the legal procedure has been laced with a series of public and very bitter back and forth between the estranged couple.

The reality star appeared inconsolable in the sneak peek when her ex-husband stopped by her Newport Beach home in California to check up on her. “You good?” asked Tarek, to which an emotional Christina replied, “No…Josh and I officially split up.”

The HGTV star explained to Tarek that they fought with many confrontations and “middle fingers in my face.” She admitted during the conversation that “things with Josh have been bad for a long time.”

Christina noted that their two children, Taylor and Brayden, asked her to leave the marriage: “They told me he’s not nice to me. Why would I stick around?”

According to PEOPLE, the mother-of-three says, “I feel like I’m in a tornado all the time, and I just can’t get out of it. Everything since 2016 has been so hard and so horrible.” She further said, amid tears, “It’s really taken a really bad toll on me.”

Christina’s tearful reaction to the divorce pushed Tarek to admit some bitter truths. His statement came right after the mother-of-three shared, “I’m really sorry for s— too. I really am. I just want you to know.”

Tarek assured her that he understood what it felt to be “a little lost,” adding, “and I acknowledge that I’m a big part, if not the entire part, of all this.”

Their heartfelt conversation marks the first time Tarek or Christina have spoken about their divorce on screen, nearly ten years after finalizing the process.

The realtor previously opened up about how he went into a dark place after their breakup in 2016. He described the weeks immediately after the split as “physical and emotional hell.”

Tarek also wrote in his memoir Flip Your Life about hiding out on his boat, drinking himself unconscious, and going through extreme withdrawal from testosterone until friends stepped in to get him professional help.

He recovered and found love again with his wife, Heather, whom he married in 2021. Two years later, in February 2023, they welcomed their son Tristan.

Christina disclosed that she and Josh shot a few awkward episodes together for the new reality TV show, but according to her, “It was not fun.” As reported by The Blast, the doting mom stated:

“I did not enjoy filming with him. Having split up made this, to be honest, so much easier and so much better in every way.”

The star explained that Josh was deeply insecure and disliked watching her win, adding, “I feel like I was not shining as bright to try not to make him feel emasculated.”

She claimed that her ex did not understand her and Tarek’s dynamic, and his jealousy over their bond would have dampened everything.

Christina’s statement on her ex-husband’s energy on set matched Tarek and Heather’s account, who had commented on how Christina has become positive-minded since they went their separate ways. Tarek’s wife clarified that she did not intend to be mean to Josh, but it felt “nice to see him go.”

Although the network continued filming the show amid news of the couple’s divorce, changes were made behind the scenes to fill the vacuum created by Josh’s exit.

The show, slated to air in 2025, did a plot overhaul to its original theme but promised viewers entertaining content regardless of the changes.

Sources claimed the couple’s marriage declined over time. They explained that the breakup occurred due to years of tension building up. The estranged pair’s marital crisis may also be related to the professional relationship, which was equally chaotic.

Viewers will also see the close bond between Christina, Tarek, and Heather and the striking resemblance between Heather and Christina, which once led to a case of mistaken identity in a friendly video shared on social media.

While Christina’s relationship with Josh has gone irreparably sour, the reality star and her second ex-husband worked out their previously rocky relationship.

The Blast shared a report of their friendly interaction 2 months ago after Ant shared a lovely picture of their 5-year-old son, Hudson, at a successful soccer practice on Saturday, October 19.

Ant described his son and the “Golden Chameleons” performance as great as Hudson was seen beaming alongside his coach and teammates.

The British TV personality tagged his baby mama in the post on his Instagram story, and Christina surprised everyone by resharing the image on her account. The interaction came after Christina liked an Instagram post by her former husband on October 17 of their son by the beach.

Christina and Ant have come a long way from their bitter custody battle, which was eventually settled in November 2022, to allow them to share joint legal and physical custody of their lovely son.
