The story of Arthur Fleck continues in Joker: Folie à Deux, the polarizing sequel to the 2019 hit film Joker, which was based on characters from DC Comics. Joker 2 picks up with Fleck in Arkham Asylum, institutionalized for his crimes in the first movie and the anarchy that followed. When Harley Quinn, a fellow inmate, crosses his path, Fleck discovers true love — and the music that’s been inside his soul this entire time.
The divisive Joker sequel hails from Todd Phillips, who returned to co-write, direct and produce the sequel. Joaquin Phoenix returns to the role of Fleck/Joker, for which he won the Best Actor Oscar in 2020.
