The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are one of the most successful franchises in Indian Premier League (IPL) history, with five titles to their name. Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, will sponsor the Chennai Super Kings for the next three IPL seasons, beginning with the 2025 season.
Etihad Airways recently unveiled a new aircraft themed around the Super Kings. The aircraft, featuring CSK’s logo in bold blue and yellow, made its inaugural flight from Abu Dhabi to Chennai on December 12. This launch was a significant moment for Indian cricket, aviation, and the city of Chennai.
CSK’s Newest Signings Greet Passengers on Etihad Airways’ Special Flight to Chennai
Three of Chennai Super Kings’ newest signings, Gurjapneet Singh, Rahul Tripathi, and Vijay Shankar, greeted passengers as the specially themed Etihad Airways aircraft arrived in Chennai. During the flight, passengers were treated to sweet treats to celebrate the partnership between Etihad Airways and CSK.
Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, Etihad Airways, said: “It’s perfectly fitting that the first flight of this unique aircraft livery is to the Chennai Super Kings’ home in Chennai, delighting the millions of fans residing in the city.
“Through this special livery, we are pleased to celebrate our partnership with CSK, as well as demonstrate Etihad’s long-term commitment to the Indian market.”
Etihad Airways to Sponsor Chennai Super Kings for Next Three IPL Seasons
A journalist from the Times of India took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to confirm that Etihad Airways will sponsor the Super Kings for the next three IPL seasons. Gaurav Gupta shared that the airline’s logo will be placed on the front of the players’ jerseys, replacing its previous position on the back.

Chennai Super Kings Aim for Record Sixth IPL Title
The Chennai Super Kings have won the Indian Premier League five times. They equaled the record of Mumbai Indians (MI) for the most titles after winning the IPL 2023 final. CSK’s first title came in 2010, followed by four more in 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023. However, they missed out on the playoffs in the 2024 season.
Ahead of the 2025 season, the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led team has assembled a strong squad with hopes of reclaiming the title. If they manage to win the IPL again in 2025, they will set a record by becoming the only team with six IPL titles. They have picked valuable players during the IPL 2025 mega auction last month.
