Being a watcher of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City franchise and a lover of fashion, I was blown away by the arrival of Bronwyn Newport. A new member in the cast of season 5, her sense of style is just as bold and fun as her personality. While her and her glamorous lifestyle had me thinking we wouldn’t have much in common, I was wrong. We do share a strong love for the same rich mom-chic (but affordable) pajamas brand.
I sat down for a virtual interview with Newport to discuss how her love for the Bedhead Pajamas came to be, how it evolved over time and to compare notes on why they’re our favorites. In a world of endless brand partnerships, I was amazed at how authentic her start with the brand was.
“My first email receipt of a Bed Head purchase is [from] like 12 years ago,” Newport said. “So I’ve been wearing them for a really long time. I now have way too many pairs.”
What started out as buying a pair to match with her daughter Gwen, turned into her purchasing multiple styles match with her whole family on various occasions. Then, after years of being their “biggest fan,” she even created her own collection with the brand as well, which includes fun prints that reflect the housewife’s life and style.
“What I love about them is that they do these really fun prints,” Newport said. “And I think for me, fashion is not serious at all.”

What drew both Newport and I to the pajamas was all of the fun and funky prints that they come in. I got mine in a cute pink and cheetah print style that makes me feel like I should be in bed with a glass of champagne, a face mask on and someone waiting on me hand and foot — they look and feel that expensive. However, Bronwyn’s love for their prints takes it to a whole different level . . .

She’ll match pajamas with her daughter, her husband Todd, her parents, friends and even with her dogs. She’ll also get and match them for almost every occasion you could ever imagine getting Chinese take out or pizza with Todd, baking Christmas cookies and even got a Palm Springs style for when they went there on trip in the latest season of RHOSLC.
“It’s so fun for me that they do family,” Newport said. “When I do Christmas or when my parents come on vacation with us, my dad, Todd, my mom, my dog, everybody has matching PJs — and it’s a great unifier.”
Of course, pajamas are all about the coziness too. Newport and I both agree that they’re incredibly comfortable to sleep in and hold up well over time too. This is because many of them are made with a 93% organic cotton and 7% elastane blend. This means they’re breathable, soft, slightly stretchy, easy to wash and are even sustainably made as well. They do have other collections too though in case those aren’t quite your favorite, like washable silk and woven 100% cotton.
“They are cute and they just are really comfy and wear well,” Newport said.
As for whether or not she’s shared a pair with her new cast mates yet or not? “Not yet,” Newport said. She said she thought about it a few times this season, but in her cheeky fashion said, “when they show me that they deserve a pair of jammies, I’ll know it’s time to give them a pair of PJs.”
“Maybe if I come back for season six, there are some ladies who I think I would match in pajamas with,” Newport said. “It’s a big honor to match in jammies with me so they’re gonna have to earn it for sure.”
