‘Abbott’ and ‘Sunny’ Crossover Episode: Release Date, How to Watch

On Wednesday, you have not one, but two hilarious reasons to turn on your TV, as the casts of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Abbott Elementary will deliver their highly anticipated first crossover episode.

Season 4, episode 9 of Abbott Elementary, titled Volunteers, will blend the Philadelphia-set sit-coms and be followed by a second crossover during Sunny’s forthcoming 17th season. The initial episode will see Abbott’s principal Ava announce “the school district is sending a group of volunteers to help out,” per a synopsis, readying two tonally different comedic worlds to collide.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Dennis, Dee, Charlie, Mac and Frank will all feature in the Abbott installment. If you want to catch what will surely be a chaotic episode of the ABC workplace comedy, here’s how to tune in to Volunteers.

How to watch ABC without cable

A live TV streaming service that includes ABC in its channel lineup will do the trick. Hulu Plus Live TV and YouTube TV are among the options — both start at $83 per month — and you can stream the Abbott Elementary episode with Sling Blue if you’re in a select city.
