Dinesh Karthik names India’s second-best bowler


Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) mentor Dinesh Karthik hailed the team’s new recruit, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, as India’s best bowler. The fast bowler was acquired by the franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction 2025, which took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

This will be a homecoming for Bhuvneshwar Kumar as he started his career in the Indian Premier League with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He was part of the team in 2009, and now, with a wealth of experience under his belt, he will be a vital cog in the wheel for the franchise.

“Just for the record, I am convinced that he is the best bowler India has after Bumrah even today. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the best T20 bowler.”

He also claimed a hat-trick in the tournament, picking 11 wickets from eight innings at an average of 12.90 and an economy rate of just 5.64. With the kind of form he is in, it will be a massive boost for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL.

The franchise is yet to win the IPL and this time around it will be a massive opportunity for them to end the title drought and add themselves to the list of teams with IPL titles under their belt.
