Dubois Eyes Undisputed Crown After Parker Title Defense

Daniel Dubois says he wants to fight for the undisputed championship against the winner of the Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk 2 rematch after he successfully defends his IBF heavyweight title against Joseph Parker on February 22nd.

Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) and Parker (35-3, 23 KOs) will be the co-feature on the Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol 2 card in 65 days in Riyadh. Parker, 32, is getting a title shot after recently beating Deontay Wilder and WBC interim champion Zhilei Zhang in back-to-back fights.

Dubois, 27, has the power, youth, and momentum in his favor with his recent knockout wins over Anthony Joshua and Jarrell Miller. He stopped Joshua in the fifth round on September 21st in a four-knockdown performance at Wembley Stadium in London.

Next Target: Undisputed

“I want that next and I know I deserve that because I beat AJ. I put him to sleep, and I’m that guy now. They got to fight me,” said Daniel Dubois to Secondsout about wanting to fight for the undisputed championship against the winner of the Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk 2 fight.

“It’s going to be a good fight. It’s going to be a real war. He’s going to come and try and take my head off, and I’ll do the same thing,” said Dubois about his title defense against Joseph Parker on February 22nd. “Let’s see. I’m ready to go, though.

“I’m not even studying that yet. Put him in the ring with me, and we’ll see what happens,” said Dubois about how he gauges Parker compared to his recent opponents talent-wise. I haven’t taken my foot off the gas. We’re going to go harder for this one,” said Dubois.

February War

Parker, as he’s transformed himself into a crafty mover, and he doesn’t let his hands go with bad intentions like he used to before his 11th round knockout loss to Joe Joyce on September 24, 2022. Since that loss, Parker has won his last five fights, but he hasn’t faced anyone like Dubois.

“I’m not going to tell you. We’re going to get a game plan [for Parker]. It’s war. Let’s go. It was great to do it in front of the British public. That was a special moment. The people we brought with us, the music. It was on point. We need to keep that momentum going, and it’s on with the next one now. Keep proving them wrong,” said Dubois with his message to his doubters.
