Jasprit Bumrah is not only sharp with his bowling but also with his comments on and off the field. India’s vice-captain made a comment in the ongoing Test between Australia and India at Gabba that was clearly audible through the stump mic.
Jasprit Bumrah was in the middle of an excellent spell in the morning session of Day 2. During the spell, he beat the bat numerous times as the batters had no clue about his deliveries.
After beating Marnus Labuschagne, Bumrah was heard saying “We had wider bats for sure! Isn’t it” on the stump mic. While making these comments, Bumrah aimed to say that he would have found the edge had the bats been a bit wider.

During the commentary box on Star Sports, Sanjay Bangar asked Cheteshwar Pujara whether he would have liked to play with a wider bat or not. Pujara clearly denied using such bats in Australia because of the high pace and bounce on these pitches.
According to him, the chances of getting an edge increases if the bats are wider which is the reason why he would always prefer a narrow bat on Australian wickets.
“Definitely not in Australia because the pace and bounce is more here and if your bat is big, then the chances of getting an edge increases. So, it is better if the bat is narrow in Australia,” Pujara said.

Cheteshwar Pujara’s role in India’s last two BGT wins
Cheteshwar Pujara was one of the toughest batters to be dismissed during the peak time of his career. He is one of those rare batters in the present generation whose game was built on his defense. With a stubborn defense, he has the ability to tire out the opposition bowlers.

Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah bowled a wonderful spell on the morning of Day 2 to put India ahead at that time. He dismissed both the Australian openers Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney during his spell.
Bumrah first knocked out Khawaja when he had him caught behind for 21. In his next over, the fast bowler picked up the wicket of McSweeney for the fourth time this series. McSweeney was caught at second slip by Virat Kohli for 9.
Jasprit Bumrah kept persisting on tight lines and constantly troubled Australian batters. He kept on beating the bat of Marnus Labuchagne and Steve Smith a no. of times but was unfortunate not to have another wicket in this spell.
