IPL 2025- RCB’s Rajat Patidar openly challenges Dinesh Karthik to keep a six-hitting challenge

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) middle-order batter Rajat Patidar named three players who could hit the longest six in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Rajat Patidar also asked RCB’s new batting coach and mentor, Dinesh Karthik, to conduct a six-hitting competition to see who can hit the longest six.

Patidar recently attended a camp organized by Royal Challengers during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The batter is expected to play a crucial role for RCB in the IPL 2025. He was one of the three players retained by the franchise, alongside Virat Kohli and Yash Dayal, ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.

Let’s See Who Hits The Longest Six – Rajat Patidar

In a video released by RCB on their social media platform X, Rajat Patidar stated that the batters who bat at No. 4 and 5 need to show intent in the middle overs of T20 matches. Patidar also named Tim David, Jitesh Sharma, and Liam Livingstone as players who could hit the longest six in the IPL 2025.

“In the middle overs of a T20 game, particularly those who bat at No. 4 or No. 5, their intent is to always see how much they can maximize the opportunity. That’s very important. I believe that our batting order will particularly focus on this,” Patidar said.

“I feel that one among Tim David, Liam Livingstone, and Jitesh Sharma can hit the longest six of this season. And DK (Dinesh Karthik) bhai if you’re watching, you can keep a six-hitting challenge. Let’s see who hits the longest six,” the RCB batter said.

RCB Didn’t Bring Back Glenn Maxwell and Will Jacks in the Auction

During the IPL 2025 mega auction, the Bengaluru-based franchise bought middle-order batters Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma, and Tim David. They didn’t use RTMs for Glenn Maxwell and Will Jacks in the auction. They also secured the services of wicketkeeper-batter Phil Salt, who can open the innings.

RCB brought back Australian seamer Josh Hazlewood, securing him for Rs 12.50 crore. They also added emerging pacer Rasikh Dar and strengthened their spin department by signing leg-spinner Suyash Sharma for INR 2.6 crore. They have all-rounders Krunal Pandya, Romario Shepherd, and Jacob Bethell.

We Have One Of The Best Sides – Rajat Patidar

Rajat Patidar believes that RCB has one of the best squads this season, with a well-balanced team covering all areas. He highlighted that both the batting, from the top order to finishers, and the bowling departments are fully covered.

“I personally feel we have one of the best sides. We are balanced and covering all departments from the top order, middle order, and finisher,” he said in the same interaction.

“If you look at the bowling group, we have covered everything and I did not feel like we’re lacking anywhere,” Patidar added.
