Jasprit Bumrah breaks silence on not getting support from other bowlers

India National Cricket Team pacer Jasprit Bumrah opened up about not getting support from the other bowlers in the ongoing third Test against Australia National Cricket Team. He said that they don’t blame anyone as the team is in the transition phase.

India National Cricket Team’s bowling lineup has been single-handedly carried by Jasprit Bumrah in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The fast bowler is the leading wicket-taker in the series with 18 wickets to his name, and it depicts the kind of impact he has made.

Jasprit Bumrah picks 6 wickets at the Gabba

While Bumrah’s class with the ball has been unmatched, what has been concerning for India National Cricket Team has been the lack of support that the fast bowler is getting. Not only have they been there for the pacer, but it is the main reason the Rohit Sharma-led side is struggling.

In the ongoing match, which is taking place at The Gabba in Brisbane, Australia at one stage were 74/3 and ended with 445 runs. One of the biggest reasons behind this was the inability of the other bowlers to step up and compliment Jasprit Bumrah once the ball turned soft.

Bumrah was the lone warrior for his team with the ball as he picked 6 wickets in the game, which included main players Usman Khawaja, Nathan McSweeney, Travis Head, Steve Smith, Mitchell Marsh and Mitchell Starc, completing his second fifer in the series.

I am trying to help, everyone will learn and get better – Jasprit Bumrah

While talking about the lack of support, Bumrah admitted that they are in a transition phase and it’s not an easy place for youngsters to play. He added that he is helping everyone and they will learn from experience. Speaking to reporters, he explained:

“We don’t point fingers. Obviously, we are going through a transition. Not the easiest place to play. I am trying to help, everyone will learn and get better. This is a journey.”

“We have 11 players, we are a new team. All these journeys will help them get better.”

Bumrah also talked about the opinions of experts, saying that he cannot take extra baggage and he doesn’t take these things seriously. He concluded by saying that he is focused on giving his best. He elaborated:

“I cannot take extra baggage I don’t take any opinion seriously. I look at myself and answer and give my absolute best. I ask that end of day and I accept the results.”

India are in a spot of bother in the ongoing game against Australia. After the hosts ended their innings with 445 runs, it was expected that they would come with the fight with the bat, but they lost Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant early as they came under massive pressure. At stumps on Day 3, the visitors were 54/4 with KL Rahul (30) and Rohit Sharma at the crease.
