Royal Challengers Bengaluru were the second team to bid for KL Rahul after Kolkata Knight Riders. The two teams were involved in a bidding war till INR 10.75 crore before the Bengaluru-based franchise pulled out of the bidding and let Chennai Super Kings enter the war.

It was ultimately Delhi Capitals, who stole the deal and acquired the services of KL Rahul for INR 14 crore. It’s fair to say that it was a massive steal for the Delhi-based franchise as they got the keeper-batter for a very low price as it was expected that he would go over INR 20 crore.

With Delhi Capitals acquiring KL Rahul, it is almost certain that the keeper-batter will be captaining the team in the league. He has been one of the best batters in the league for the last few years. The opening batter has run consistently for the teams he played for.

KL Rahul captained Punjab Kings for two seasons before moving to Lucknow Super Giants. Under his leadership, the team made playoffs in two seasons before ending in the bottom half of the table in the last edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

He would be hoping to help Delhi Capitals end their title drought and help them win the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
