The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is unfolding new things with each day passing by. There has been no clarity related to the schedule and venue of the tournament and it has seen BCCI and PCB engaging in a tussle as well.
This is because the India National Cricket Team won’t be traveling to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Indian government didn’t give the clearance to the Board of Control for Cricket in India to travel and they also conveyed this to the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been very strong in its stance of hosting the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in their country
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), on the other hand, has been very strong in its stance. Time and time again, they have mentioned that they won’t be hosting the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 outside of Pakistan and want to stage the entire event in their backyard even if India doesn’t visit to play.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) is trying to convey to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in the Hybrid model. As per that, Pakistan will be staging the entire tournament except for India games, which are likely to be hosted by UAE.
There have been a lot of statements from both parties, but so far, there hasn’t been any official news related to that. The recent reports claimed that the International Cricket Council (ICC) will be holding an emergency meeting on November 26 to discuss the issues.
The reports claimed that top officials from cricket boards across all the participating nations, including ones from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will be present. And they will address the ongoing concerns over the venues.
The ICC will be acting as a mediator during the meeting. They will be focused on finding a solution that will go well with everyone. Only after that meeting, the schedule and the venue for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is likely to be announced.
Mohsin Naqvi is trying to convince Nawaz Sharif to have a call with PM Narendra Modi
But in the latest development, as per the reports in RevSportz, it is learned that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is making every possible step to bring India to Pakistan. The reports claimed that the PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi was trying to convince Nawaz Sharif to have a chat with PM Narendra Modi regarding this matter on a phone call.
This is because they believe that the President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Nawaz Sharif talking with Narendra Modi might allow India to go to Pakistan. The reports address that Sharif took this request positively and the decision is likely to come out soon.
