Nicole Kidman and her husband, Keith Urban, are reportedly planning to relocate back to Australia after enduring a tough year. The “Big Little Lies” actress recently lost her mother, Janelle, and had to travel back to Australia for the funeral.

While mourning her mom, Kidman traveled the country to promote her new movie and film other projects. Now, the loss of her mother combined with Kidman’s busy schedule have reportedly made her family fear she may suffer from “burnout” and have now set their eyes on returning home.

“Nicole and Keith have had their worst year ever, they’ve barely spent any time together, and she’s been on her own throughout some of her most distressing times,” a source told Woman’s Day Magazine (per the Daily Mail.)

The 57-year-old actress recently suffered the loss of her mom, Janelle, and had to join her family, including her junior sister Antonia, back in Sydney as they all attended her funeral.

The news of Kidman’s mother’s death was shared in a statement read by the film’s director, Halina Reijn.

Kidman said, “I arrived in Venice and found out shortly after that my beautiful, brave mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, has just passed. I’m in shock, and I have to go to my family, but this award is for her. She shaped me and made me.”

“She was my compass in a way,” she said. “It’s like losing that, but at the same time going.”

It seems like Kidman’s family has a reason to be worried about her health, as she recently told GQ Magazine that she sometimes wakes up crying, partly because of the loss of her parents and also due to thoughts about mortality.

“Mortality. Connection. Life coming and hitting you,” she told the news outlet. “And loss of parents and raising children and marriage and all of the things that go into making you a fully sentient human. I’m in all of those places. So life is, whew. It’s definitely a journey.”

Having had what GQ described as a “sharp, dramatic breath” while talking, Kidman added that this “hits you as you get older” and “it’s a wake up at 3 am crying and gasping kind of thing. If you’re in it and not numbing yourself to it. And I’m in it. Fully in it.”

She told the news outlet that in spite of the setbacks, she pushes through the pain for her children’s sake.

“It goes on,” she shared. “That natural line of how it’s meant to go. The parents, then you, then the children. That’s the natural course. So if that happens, that’s a blessing.”
