Nicole Kidman Slammed By Fans For ‘Rude’ Behavior At ‘Babygirl’ Premiere

Nicole Kidman sparked controversy among fans over her behavior during a chat with a reporter at the premiere of her latest movie, “Babygirl.”

Since the exchange went viral, the actress has received criticism from fans, with some slamming her as “rude” and others calling her behavior “awful.”

Before the premiere, Nicole Kidman participated in several interviews promoting the erotic thriller, where she stars as a commanding CEO who becomes entangled in a complex relationship with a bold young intern.

The long-awaited premiere of Kidman’s “Babygirl” has finally taken place. However, the positive buzz surrounding the film seemingly suffered a blow after the actress had a bizarre encounter on the red carpet.

Kidman arrived on the red carpet in a strapless gown with a flowery design, looking stylish and ready for the event.

While walking the red carpet, she was stopped by a reporter from the celebrity media outlet Pop Crave who had a “quick question” for her.

But before the reporter could proceed, Kidman asked them to repeat the name of their outlet, as she seemingly didn’t catch it the first time.

When the reporter clarified, the actress responded with a cheerful “Oh, great,” but then shrugged, glanced off-camera with an air of indifference, and broke into hearty laughter—all while being recorded.

Although Kidman did go on to answer the question, fans online were quick to criticize her reaction during the conversation she had with the reporter.

According to the Daily Mail, several fans called the actress “rude,” while others described her behavior as “awful.”

A person on X (formerly Twitter) commented, “I would’ve been so embarrassed if i was Pop Crave and Nicole Kidman laughed at me like that,” while another remarked, “Kinda b-tchy by Nicole to me, but oh well.”

One more person said that the actress is “so overrated” and has become “arrogant and full of herself.”

However, some users didn’t find any issue with Kidman’s reaction and thought it was rather funny.

A user said, “She dead-ss laughed in their face like they were a joke, then caught herself! Oh, we love you, Nicole.”

Another chimed in, “She said never heard of y’all and couldn’t give a f-ck,” while someone else said, “Savage without meaning to be. A queen.”

One more person wrote, “She’s an Aussie. She’s just laughing at herself, really not at them. You would have to be an Aussie to pick up on that mannerism.”

Previously, Kidman opened up about how much physical and emotional toll she went through filming her new erotic movie “Babygirl.”

According to the actress, it was “really taxing going through all of those emotions” while filming some “disturbing” scenes in the movie.

“So you’re putting yourself through the trauma,” Kidman shared during her interview with Zendaya for Variety’s Actors on Actors feature.

“On Babygirl, there were parts that are now not in the film that we shot that gave me – it was exhausting, but it was also just emotionally disturbing.”

The Oscar winner also compared the intense pressures of filming “Babygirl” to her experiences working on another one of her acclaimed projects, “Big Little Lies.”

She added, ‘The same when I was doing Big Little Lies. That was disturbing to my body and my psyche, because I couldn’t tell what was real and what wasn’t. I would have real bruises all over my back and body.”

As a result of the experience, Kidman explored ways of restoring herself, including occasionally turning to chakra cleansing as part of her recovery journey.

She said, “So I’ve done things where they clean my chakras and pray and get out the sage. Honestly, I’ll take whatever so I can step into the next place free, and not scarred or damaged or wounded.”

In the end, she learned an important lesson: There are limits to how much she can sacrifice her body for the roles she takes.

Kidman added, “I’m still learning not to sacrifice my body for the sake of the art, because part of me wants to. Having to value who I am, it’s a journey. But you seem very stable.”

During a chat with The Hollywood Reporter, Kidman revealed that her role in “Babygirl” resonated with her from the onset as she saw it as a rare opportunity to portray a sexual woman beyond traditional, age-related stereotypes.

“A lot of times, women are discarded at a certain period of their career as a sexual being. So it was really beautiful to be seen in this way,” the actress shared.

She added, “From the minute I read it, I was like, ‘Yeah, this is a voice I haven’t seen, this is a place that I haven’t been, I don’t think audiences have been.'”

Kidman went on to express her appreciation for the role’s bold hypersexuality but admitted she was astonished that the showrunners approved it for production.

“I thought it was incredibly sexy,” she noted. “Really just so raw and dangerous, and I couldn’t believe they were giving us the money to make it.”
