Olivia Ponton had a strange experience with a delivery driver just days before she was on the scene of a robbery at the home of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
Ponton, 22, posted a video via TikTok on Saturday, December 7 — just two days before Burrow’s home was burglarized — and gave a “PSA” to her more than 7 million followers.
“Never put your real name or a photo of yourself on Uber, Uber Eats, Lyft, DoorDash, any of it,” Ponton said. “Let this be your sign. Matter of fact, change it to a guy’s name. Jason, Jake, John. Anything. And just delete the photo. Let this be your f—ing sign.”
The Sports Illustrated model then explained why she urged the precautionary measure to be taken.
“I was just shaking in my literal boots for 20 minutes,” Ponton said. “This man would not stop banging on my door. For 20 minutes? I was like, ‘Aren’t you getting tired?’”
She continued, “I was standing there. I didn’t know what to do. I was literally frozen. And he was covering the little peekhole with the bag, so I couldn’t even see who it was. I couldn’t match up the photo on Uber Eats with him.”
Ponton ominously ended the video saying, “We’re not safe out here.”
It is unclear if Ponton was at the Ohio home of Burrow, 28, at the time of the incident or when she made the video. However, Ponton was at the home on the evening of Monday, December 9 when she called 911 to report a burglary at the residence.
At the time of the break-in, Burrow and the Bengals were in Texas to face the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football.
“Someone broke into my house,” Ponton told a dispatcher. “It’s just, like, completely messed up.”
Ponton also reported the incident to her mother, Diane, who made a separate call to 911.
“Someone is trying to break into the house right now,” Ponton’s mother told the dispatcher. “My daughter is there. This is Joe Burrow’s house. She is staying there. He’s at the football game.”
Ponton’s mother continued, “She’s wondering what she should do, if she should be hiding or if she should be going outside.”
Burrow and Ponton have never confirmed their relationship status, but rumors about the pair have circulated since the summer. The police report from the crime scene says Ponton is “employed by Mr. Burrow.”
Us Weekly has reached out to representatives for Burrow and Ponton, but has not heard back.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the robbery. No arrests have been made and no suspects have been named.
Burrow and the Bengals are set to hit the road again this weekend for a game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, December 15.
