Team India cricketer Smriti Mandhana has moved closer to the top spot in both white-ball formats in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) women’s rankings released on Tuesday, December 17. Smriti Mandhana delivered strong performances in recent games against Australia and the West Indies.
Smriti Mandhana scored 105 in the final match of India’s ICC Women’s Championship series against Australia in Perth, where her team suffered a 0-3 whitewash. The left-handed batter scored 54 off 33 balls, including seven fours and two sixes, against the West Indies in a 49-run victory on December 15.

Smriti Mandhana moved up three places to second in the latest ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings. She is now just 39 rating points behind South African batter Laura Wolvaardt, who holds the top spot. The Indian opening batter scored her ninth ODI century against Australia in the final game in Perth.
Australia’s white-ball stars have improved their rankings. Annabel Sutherland, named Player of the Series, jumped 15 places to 29th among ODI batters. She also moved up four spots to 20th for bowlers. Sutherland jumped to 9th place among all-rounders after scoring 122 runs and taking six wickets.
Tammy Beaumont moved up to 11th in the ODI batting rankings after scoring an unbeaten 65 to help England secure a 2-1 series win over South Africa. Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner and Tahlia McGrath made significant gains. Gardner rose to 16th with 50 in Perth, and McGrath jumped from 32nd to 24th.

In the latest T20I rankings, Indian players made notable progress. Jemimah Rodrigues moved up six spots to 15th after scoring a half-century against the West Indies. Deepti Sharma climbed two places to second in the T20I bowling rankings following her two-wicket haul in the recent match.
Harmanpreet Kaur remains in the top 10, while Titas Sadhu advanced to 52nd in the bowling rankings. For the West Indies, Deandra Dottin rose 21 places to 59th, while Qiana Joseph moved up 22 places to 65th among batters, and Karishma Ramharack climbed six spots to 20th among bowlers.
